The Standard is a guitar with a difference!

The Standard series, with its graceful curving lines, is a larger-bodied guitar with a clarity that is uncanny!

"this guitar makes others sound like they are stuffed full of cotton."

The amazingly rich, powerful bass and midrange is blended with a brilliant treble shimmering with harmonic overtones. Arguably the most balanced guitar he makes, James feels that the Goodall Standard is the crowning achievement of his luthierie career. Approximately the same cavity size as the dreadnought guitar, that is where the resemblance stops. More than one musician has commented that "this guitar makes others sound like they are stuffed full of cotton."

You have to hear it to believe it.

Whether in your living room, in the studio, or on stage, this one excels. Truly it can be said that this is the Standard by which all other guitars are judged.

Goodall Standard series guitars are produced in five main styles:

  • Mahogany back and sides. Alaskan Sitka Spruce top. Rosewood or Curly Maple binding.
  • E.I. Rosewood back and sides. Alaskan Sitka Spruce top. Curly Koa or Rosewood binding.
